Simulate an aircraft dropping a bomb while a moving tank fires a shell. Compare trajectories, closest approach, impact time and outcome.
✓ Runs locally in your browser✓ Animated trajectories with a timeline✓ Uses SI units and adjustable gravity
Simulation time:
Ready. Adjust the variables or run this scenario.
Negative velocity moves the tank left; positive moves it right. The tank fires left, toward the aircraft’s initial position. Muzzle speed is relative to the tank.
Model equations
Bomb: xb(t) = x·t | yb(t) = h − ½gt²
Tank: xt(t) = d + z·t
Shell: xs(t) = d + (z − p·cos n)t | ys(t) = p·sin n·t − ½gt²
Ideal 2D motion on level ground. Air drag, aircraft lift, terrain and guidance are not included.

Как это работает
1Enter the aircraft speed and altitude, the tank position and velocity, and the shell angle and muzzle speed.
2Choose a preset or adjust the values, then run the animation.
3Review the outcome, event times, miss distances and equations below the scene.
Часто задаваемые вопросы
What physics model does the simulator use?
It uses ideal two-dimensional projectile motion with constant gravity. Air resistance, lift, terrain, rotation of Earth and guidance are ignored.
Is the shell speed measured relative to the tank?
Yes. The muzzle speed is relative to the moving tank, and the tank velocity is added to the shell’s horizontal ground velocity.
What counts as a hit?
A hit occurs when the distance between projectile and target is no greater than the selected hit radius. The bomb is checked against the tank when the bomb reaches ground level.
